BIO
Born, raised, educated, lived most of my life in So. Minn.
Worked as a librarian....absolutely loved it. Then taught
secondary social studies. Did both of those in New Prague, Mn
and at the time had no plans to ever leave. The Spirit nudged me away....
......all the way to western Wisconsin, where I again worked
as a librarian for awhile.
Returned to grad-school, picked up a couple more MS's, became a counselor and family life educator. Worked in
a family agency and a nursing home.
Taught about relationships, death and dying, self growth for awhile at UW-Stout..great college & students,
supportive staff. Loved it all.
BUT...
The Spirit kept nudging me along...to Missouri where I attended
seminary, graduated with an MDiv, then did more post-grad studies in chaplaincy and further counseling programs. Did I say I loved going to school?
Ultimately I became an ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ, the church I was born into many years agao, and I also became a board certifed chaplain, all at about the same time..things came together fast! Then I was asked to serve on state committees to certify other chaplains; does that keep me on my toes!
I've served as pastor/chaplain throughout the Midwest..Missouri, Ohio, Iowa and now back in Minnesota. Over the years I was 'spirit led' to more studies such as specialized grief counseling and end of life issues, and now spiritual direction working more in-depth with those seeking their way connecting to their God, as they move through life losses and grief issues.
It's been an amazing adventurous journey...and it's definitely on-going....
LIFE PHILOSOPHY
When we take time to Be Still and Know, spend time with discerning 'wise ones', we will 'know' the way, and we will be filled with courage to continue to follow the 'call' of God, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and, then even amidst sorrows, losses, tragedy and chaos, the Spirit-led, Spirit-filled life will allow us to feel centered, and whole, & we will Know of that peace within.
And daily, we will be open to the wonders and blessings that are ours.
When we are open to the spirit within/without we will find ourselves saying WOW, more than we find ourselves asking Why me?
